 SAVE OUR EARTH

Global warming, explained - Vox

Environmental pollution is one of the key problems faced in our modern world. Though there have been massive technological advancement in these recent days, it has also invited negative effects to the environment. By doing a simple thing like planting a tree, we shall be making the world a better place and for sure we shall always live to be proud of our achievement.

Saving the environment is not just an issue anymore. It is a survival truth. Individuals, organisations and governments need to come together and join hands to protect what is left of our planet so that the future is not wiped out before it’s time for a curtain call. I want to add that saving energy reduces air pollution and greenhouse gases. The less we pollute our environment, the more we prevent global warming.

SIMPLE WAYS TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT

1. RECYCLE

Recycling is such a simple thing to do, but so many people don’t do it. Many garbage disposal companies offer recycling services, so check with the company you use to see if they can help you get started! It is as simple as getting a bin and putting it out with your trash cans for free! Also, check with your RA to see if recycling options are offered in your dorm. Another way to recycle is to look for recycling cans near trashcans. Instead of throwing recyclables in the trash with your non-recyclables, make a point to take an extra step to locate recycling cans around your campus.

2. PLANT YOUR OWN TREE

There are multiple benefits to planting a tree in your garden. It is good for the environment both the land and the air, it can shade your home and cut back your air con usage and it can even increase the value of your property. You could make it an annual event where each family member plants a new tree.

3. TURN OFF LIGHTS WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN THE ROOM
Living with the Lights Off — Jeannie Marie

You don’t need to light up a room no one is using. Save energy and money by getting into the habit of switching off the lights when you leave the room. For standard bulbs, do this each time you leave. For energy savers, do this if you are leaving the room for more than fifteen minutes. You will also save on your cooling costs, as lights can make your rooms hotter!

4. TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER AT NIGHT

Should You Shut Down Your Computer Every Night? - Alapan Biswas ...

How many of us simply close our laptop or turn off the screen to our desktop each evening? Turning off your computer at night can help save energy, and also put a little bit of money back in your pocket. If you’re worried about how powering down might affect your computer’s performance, place it in hibernation mode instead. And while you’re at it, check your power strips and unplug appliances like hairdryers and TVs that suck energy even when they aren’t on.

THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

👉    There are many benefits towards a clean environment like saving endangered species, clean air, less hazards, more sources of food such as fish, and much more that are too many for this list. By having clean air, many critically endangered species will repopulate themselves and for us we will not have any hazards in our bodies by the air that we all breathe in.

👉    Having clean water is a huge game changer because all living things must drink or absorb water to survive. If we have dirty water, than many living things, especially fish, will die from contamination.

👉     Another benefit for having a clean environment is that we can have a more steady supply of food, water, and many natural resources like wood in order to create important products. Finally, another benefit is that it can create a new and more improved state of economy where there will be renewable energy everywhere to satisfy our thirst for energy.
